As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed. ~~thebump.com
Almost out of the 1st trimester, whoo hoo!!! I guess some people would say that I'm in the 2nd trimester, but most literature I've read says 13w3d is the start of the 2nd trimester. So, a little over a week left!!! I'm waiting for this burst of energy to come, hopefully, soon! I bought my first pair of maternity jeans on Friday, they're soooo comfy!!! My regular jeans fit, they're just a little snug. I go back to the Dr's on the 29th, hopefully we'll get to hear the HB on the doppler!!!!
On a more serious note, I've been exposed to the H1N1 flu. Shit, crap. On Saturday, I attended a dear friend's daughters' birthday party. Well, I find out when I get there that said friends' niece has the swine flu and though her niece wasn't there, the niece's 2 sisters were and friends mother and sister who were exposed were there. Then, I find out last night that my friend and her daughter were diagnosed with swine flu yesterday!!! Friend has a husband and newborn son that are OK so far, but who knows, they'll probably get it, too!!! I'm freaking out b/c the statistics of the swine flu and pregnant women are staggering!!! I've received the seasonal flu vaccine, but my work does not have the H1N1 vaccine, yet. My friend asked her doctor about me and they said that since she wasn't coughing or sneezing around me and her daughter didn't get too close to me, that I should be OK. I guess I'm going to have to be on full alert. I feel fine, but they did say it takes up to 2 weeks to incubate, so we'll just have to wait and see.
